Welcome to the BAT Website.

We are a small team of experienced and enthusiastic Accountants and Advisors. 

We are based in the heart of Geelong and support families and business in the Geelong and West Coast district.

We specialise in family operated small to medium size businesses. Our focus is not only on compliance but also tax planning and business improvement strategies.

  4. Our office is fully computerised and we work in a “less paper environment. We also offer our board rooms to clients who require meeting facilities in Geelong.

Breaking news about tax, finance and other issues 

KEY DATES

  • Large and medium company tax payers tax returns are due 1 December. (5 months after year end)

  • The majority of other tax payers must lodge by 30 April (10 months after year end) . Some extensions maybe possible. 

  • Quarterly BAS /IAS are due 28 days after the quarter. Unless you lodge electronically with us.
  • Monthly BAS IAS are due the 21st day after the month end..
  • Super guarantee is currently 9% of ordinary earnings and is due the 28th day after the period end.
  • Payroll tax is due the 7th day after the month-end. The annual reconciliation is due by 21st July
  • The annual Workcover certification statement is due 31st July
  • The Fringe Benefits Tax year ends 31st March. Annual returns are due 31st May.

  • ATO Audit programs

    The ATO have announced audit programs including the cash economy, self managed super funds, rental properties to name a few. Benchmarking has become a key issue for the ATO.
